I was excited to see original thinking from the community regarding the ailing college ["Tribe Has Idea for Campus," August 19]. Shinnecock College would be a fitting name for this institution. Lance Gumbs has made worthy recommendations, and I hope they will be given their proper weight and respect.

A truly unique, educationally important and beautiful college would enhance the future of the East End.
